Abstract

The article under consideration deals with gender differences in nonverbal skills of men and women. While expressing implicit negative evaluations and emotions like dislike, irritation, disapproval, or contempt, men and women tend to perform different nonverbal cues. We claim that these differences depend on gender stereotypes, homogeneous or heterogeneous type of communication, and type of relations between man and woman, which thus presupposes
communicative distance between them.
