Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of manifestation of opposition “self” – “alien” (“we” – “they”) in a newspaper macrotext about a crisis situation. The research shows that the semantic integrity of a newspaper macrotext is determined by the ridged roles of the portrayed people who belong to either of two groups: the victim-the injured party or the aggressor-the culprit. The roles of both groups are fixed and recognized on the vertical and horizontal of macrotext.
