Abstract

The article focuses on melodic characteristics of agreement and disagreement utterances in the English dialogical business-discourse, namely on the values of the pitch range. Based on the results of instrumental phonetic study the following melodic parameters are described: pitch range, maximum values of fundamental frequency and their location in the syntagm. It has been proved that there is a correlation between the analyzed melodic parameters and certain intentions.
