Abstract
The article presents a methodology for studying the forms of the Czech verbal noun ending in -ní/-tí as to retaining the category of aspect of the motivating verb stem. It is noted that such a study entails a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic functioning of the action nominals in -ní/-tí: word building, morphemic composition, semantic structure, and syntactic properties. Attention is focused on the fact of the hybrid verb and noun nature of the derivatives in question. The methodology includes the experience of solving similar problems with respect to correlated nouns in other Slavic languages.
