Abstract

The article examines the semantics of zoomorphic images in the prose by Kotsyubinsky and M. Cherniavsky, the world of domestic animals in particular. The symbols of horse, cow / ox, sheep, goat, pig, dog, cat became the key to understanding the psychology of the protagonists in novels and  short stories of these writers. Special attention is paid to the natural, and in particular animal part of human personality, which was skilfully enclosed by the authors in a complex paradigm of natural and human.
