LITERAL ALLUSIONS OF THE ENGLISH MEDIA DISCOURSE OF THE USA AND WAYS OF THEIR TRANSLATION INTO THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of literal allusions used in the English media discourse of the USA. The definitions of notions “allusion”, “literal allusion” are given in the article, ways of translation of analyzed allusions into the Ukrainian language are determined in it. The translation of allusive means is carried out by their Ukrainian equivalents, by calques, descriptively, with the help of translation transformations.
