PECULIARITIES OF PERCEPTION OF AN ANTIQUE TEXT IN MEDIEVAL FRENCH LITERATURE

Abstract

In the article we analyse the peculiarities of perception of antique texts (myths, literary texts) in medieval French literature. From the perspective of contemporary literary philosophies like perceptive criticism, theory of reader response, selective reading, we give grounds for defining the peculiarities
of active perception of mythological, philosophical, and literary texts of Antiquity by the medieval writers.
