ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION OF THE SOCIALAND CULTURAL CONTEXT IN A. NAIMAN’S BOOK “THE GLORIOUS END OF THE INGLORIOUS GENERATION”

Abstract

The article deals with artistic interpretation of the cultural specificity of the 1970s where social and cultural aspect is important in A. Naiman’s book “The Glorious End of the Inglorious Generation”. The athor carries out the artistic investigation of the definite section of the society – the creative intellectuals without reference to their professions: writers, actors, stage directors, artists. The article shows sequentially A. Naiman’s tasks: studying the creative intellectuals’ subculture, functioning of literature as a social institution (work of publishing houses), consideration of the problem of existence and correlation between Moscow’s and Leningrad’s artistic cultures in their connection with social context, mentality, traditions.
