LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT: MEANING AND ETYMOLOGY IN THE UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

Abstract

The article deals with the origin of the term used to denote is a legal document by which an owner of property disposes of his / her assets in the event of his/her death. The etymology of terms Will and Testament in the English language and the term заповіт in Ukrainian is analyzed and the results of contrastive analysis of these terms are presented.
