Abstract
The article focuses on the formation and conceptualization of gender studies in literary criticism with a focus on the study of masculinity discourse. Analysed the terminology and issues of masculine studies in a broad interdisciplinary context. Discovered topical for the modern Ukrainian literature research strategies among them – the analysis of masculine identities and gender stereotypes represented in a fiction.
