Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of the most typical features of word formation of proper name derivatives in the language of the Ukrainian and English mass media. It has been analysed the means of derivation of above mentioned units such as suffixation, prefixation, suffixation-prefixation, stem compounding, composition and telescopy.
