Abstract
The article deals with the pragmatic peculiarities of ironical utterances as indirect speech acts. Special attention is paid to the pragmatic effect produced by different types of ironical speech acts. Regularity and frequency of the irony speech acts used in fiction works of the ХХ – ХХІ centuries are established.
