Abstract
The article deals with term “image”, which is used in various branches of scientific knowledge. The research dwells on the different aspects of the analysis of the image. This piece is an attempt to research artistic images in the novel “A Secret History” by Donna Tartt. The authors analyze a number of views regarding the artistic image interpretation and emphasize the point that the artistic image has many forms: images of people, pictures of nature, urban landscapes,
and images of things reproduced with the help of imagination. The y talk about the origins of creation of the debut novel by Donna Tartt “A Secret History” and point out the specifics of the novel: the story is an inverted detective story, not whodunit, but whydunit.
