Abstract
The study deals with the narrative structure of J.M. Coetzee’s novel “Elizabeth Costello”, which is a kind of self-reflective writing. The conformity between “main” and “intercalated” texts is revealed, that is provided with a plot as well as a mode of narration. All forms of literary self-reflection are analyzed in detail.
